The ongoing digitization of our everyday life offers unique opportunities for digital therapies and health insurance innovation. The CSS Health Lab, a joint initiative of the Institute of Technology Management at the University of St. Gallen (ITEM-HSG), the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (DMTEC-ETH) at ETH Zurich, and the CSS health insurance corporation strives to specify, develop and evaluate consumer-centric applications that increase health using mobile technology. Prof. Dr. Elgar Fleisch chairs the CSS Health Lab as the scientific head.
To strengthen the lab, we offer the following position: **Research Assistant - Digital Therapy, Data Analytics & Mobile Computing**
You have to be eligible for a PhD study at DMTEC-ETH and you will work on specific projects in cooperation with our health care partner CSS. As part of our team, you take direct project responsibility. You will plan, conduct and evaluate cutting-edge research with a strong technical focus at the intersection of the social and engineering sciences. This includes computer science, business informatics and behavioral science. Employment conditions, compensation and benefits are attractive and based on guidelines of ETH Zurich. The average duration necessary for successfully obtaining a PhD is 3 1/2 years.
You should meet the following requirements:
- A master’s degree with a technical background (e.g. computer science, artificial intelligence, business informatics) and a GPA (Grade Point Average) of at least 5.0 (GPA of 2.0 and better in Germany and Austria)
- Prior experience in applied research projects, strong skills in the design of experiments, and profound knowledge in multivariate statistics is advantageous
- Strong interest in computer science, machine learning, statistics, mobile computing technologies and technology-based innovation
- Self-confident appearance and high conceptual and communication skills
- Profound knowledge (written/oral) in English and German
